Either way, here is how to bring it back to life. Rice and Pilau The best way is a pan with a splash of water. Sprinkle a tablespoon of water over the rice, cover with a lid, and heat on low for 3-4 minutes. The steam rehydrates the grains without drying them out. Avoid the microwave if you can — it works in a pinch, but the pan method keeps the texture right. Grilled Chicken and Meat Oven or toaster oven at 180°C for 8-10 minutes. Wrap loosely in foil to stop the outside drying before the centre warms through. If you are in a hurry, a hot pan with a lid works well too — add a tiny splash of water or stock and let it steam for 2 minutes each side. Stews and Curries These are the easiest. Stovetop on medium-low, stirring occasionally. Add a splash of water if the sauce has thickened in the fridge. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it bubble for 3-4 minutes.
